Qualitative Psychology of the Chinese Psychological Society

The Specialist Committee on Qualitative Psychology was established in January 2018, with its secretary office under Lingnan Normal University. It currently comprises 47 members representing 34 universities across 19 provinces and cities nationwide, uniting the foremost experts driving qualitative psychology research in China.

The goal of the committee is to promote the development of qualitative psychology in China and qualitative methods’s application in related sub-disciplines of psychology. It aims to harness its distinctive strengths to foster the generation of new concepts, theories, and qualitative methodologies rooted in Chinese culture and national conditions.

The main responsibilities of the committee includes:
1. Facilitating and executing academic exchanges and collaborations with mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the global qualitative psychology community;
2. Organizing committee meetings, annual academic conferences, and training courses on qualitative research methods;
3. Advancing the dissemination of qualitative research outcomes in psychology and overseeing the translation and introduction of notable international works;
4. Fostering the advancement and training of qualitative analysis software, along with the promotion of associated research achievements;
5. Promoting scientific research, educational initiatives, and the evolution of pertinent qualitative psychology courses.
