Music Psychology of the Chinese Psychological Society

The Specialist Committee on Music Psychology was established in January 2018, consisting of 47 members from 30 colleges and universities and scientific research institutes, bringing together the core strength of music psychology research in China.

The purpose of the Committee is to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation in the field of music psychology domestically as well as abroad, integrate multidisciplinary strength, promote the convergence of scientific and artistic research, and improve the international influence of China's music psychology research. At the same time, it is committed to providing a platform for scientists and young scholars who are interested in music psychology research, promoting the cultivation of talents in music psychology, and improving the construction of music psychology research team.

The main responsibility of the committee is to implement academic exchanges among music psychology researchers, to organize professional skills training in music psychology, to coordinate scientific outreach events, as well as to promote the application of research findings of music psychology to the treatment of psychological disorders, such as autism and depression.

The Specialist Committee on Music Psychology organizes a national academic conference every two years, along with periodic smaller-scale academic seminars and workshops. Furthermore, a Music Psychology News Reporting Group was established to actively advance the discipline's development and promote the dissemination of Music Psychology findings.
