Cyberpsychology of the Chinese Psychological Society

Founded in 2016, the Specialist Committee on Cyberpsychology has 50 members from 38 universities and scientific research institutions of 15 provinces and municipalities across the country, bringing together the core strength of cyberpsychology research in China.

The main purpose of the committee is to direct attention to the relationship between Internet usage behavior and mental health development and related issues. It aims to utilize the relevant knowledge and research findings of cyberpsychology to promote the scientific and rational use of the internet by users for study, work, and life. The committee dedicates to promote psychologically healthy development of internet users in China, and to promote "cybersocial space" with Chinese characteristics. Through enhancing the development of self-harmony and psychological health of Internet users in China, it aims to promote the harmonious development of the Chinese characteristic "cybersocial space".

The main responsibilities of the Specialist Committee on Cyberpsychology includes:
1. Strengthening the communication and cooperation among researchers in the field of cyber psychology;
2. Provide opportunities for academic training in the field of cyberpsychology;
3. Collaborate in applying for grants and completing research projects in the field of cyberpsychology;
4. Strengthening international academic exchanges in the field of cyberpsychology;
5. Promote the popularization and education of cyberpsychology;
6. Actively develop and recruit members to improve their professional level and academic influence.

The Committee organizes a number of national academic activities every year, including the symposium on "Frontiers of Psychology in the Age of Networks", "Children and the Media in the Age of the Internet", the symposium on "Psychology and China's Development", and "Chinese Psychology in the Era of Big Data" and forum on "National Symposium on Cyber Psychology and Social Alerts", etc.
