Psychometrics of Chinese Psychological Society

Established in 1984, the Specialist Committee on Psychometrics was originally known as the Committee on Psychological Measurement and officially adopted its current name in 1990. Directed by Professors Zhang Houchan, Che Hongsheng, and Fang Ping, the committee has played a crucial role in shaping the landscape of psychological testing in China. In 1992, CPS approved the "Regulations on the Administration of Psychological Tests (for Trial Implementation)" and the "Ethical Guidelines for Psychological Tests", establishing a solid foundation for the re-expansion of psychological testing in China.

The committee engages professionals in both basic and applied research on psychometrics. Currently, it comprises 32 members from various colleges, universities, and research institutes across the country. The committee's mission is to unite psychometricians, conduct academic activities, advance research in the field, and promote the application of psychometric technology. It aims to contribute to the prosperity and development of the discipline of psychometrics, addressing the diverse needs for psychometric technology and contribute to China's social harmony and development.

The committee establishes and enhances Chinese psychometric standards and validates domestic psychometric scales. The committee held Cross-Strait Symposium on Psychological and Educational Measurement biennially for over thirteen years until 2018. Additionally, various symposia and training activities on psychometrics are organized throughout the year.
