Nursing Psychology of Chinese Psychological Society
The Specialist Committee on Nursing Psychology of the Chinese Psychological Society commenced its establishment preparations in December 2013 and was formally established in January 2015. Presently, it comprises 36 members hailing from over 20 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. All members are esteemed professionals actively involved in teaching, research, and practical applications of nursing psychology within universities and prominent hospitals. The committee's secretariat operates under the purview of the Faculty of Nursing at the Naval Medical University.
The mission of the Specialist Committee on Nursing Psychology is to delve into the theory and practice of nursing psychology in China by deeply integrating the two disciplines of nursing and psychology. Our aim is to enhance the mental health and capacity to provide psychological care for over 5.2 million nurses in China. Additionally, we strive to guide nursing psychology professionals across the nation and in various regions to fully utilize the crucial role of nurses in promoting the physical and mental well-being of the entire population as part of the "Healthy China 2030" initiative.
The Specialist Committee on Nursing Psychology focuses on the following areas of work:
1. Conducting research in nursing psychology to enrich the theoretical foundations of the discipline. The committee is dedicated to advancing research on theory construction related to psychological care, understanding the psychological response patterns of nursing care subjects, developing clinical psychological care models and methods, enhancing the occupational mental health of nurses, and assessing the psychological impact of professional environments. These efforts aim to provide the entire population with professional norms and technical support for physical and mental well-being.
2. Implementing professional education, training programs, symposiums, and other activities in related fields to expedite the training of nursing psychology professionals. The committee aims to promote and disseminate new academic findings in nursing psychology theories and techniques, as well as encourage the application of nursing psychology achievements in mental health services for all individuals
3. Hosting annual national nursing psychology academic conferences and working meetings to facilitate comprehensive discussions on critical scientific issues in the field. These gatherings provide a platform for members to exchange academic achievements, fostering collaboration and steering the advancement of the discipline
4. Enhancing academic exchanges and collaborative research endeavors with colleagues both domestically and internationally. The committee endeavors to compile and publish teaching materials and monographs on nursing psychology, thereby augmenting the discipline's academic influence on a global scale.
5. Providing relevant social services by promptly mobilizing committee members and relevant experts to offer emergency nursing psychological services when professional psychological care assistance are required. Additionally, the committee conducts regular mental health education initiatives for the public to contribute to widespread mental health awareness and well-being across the population.
