Ethnic Psychology of the Chinese Psychological Society

Established in 2015, the Specialist Committee on Ethnic Psychology is a collective of professionals engaged in fundamental and applied research in ethnic psychology and cultural anthropology. The committee comprises 50 members from 35 universities and research institutes in five ethnic minority autonomous regions and other provinces and cities across the country. All of the members are experts and young scholars who have made great achievements in the field of ethnic psychology

The primary goal of the committee is to organize and unite a nationwide ethnic psychology research team to actively conduct academic communications in the field of ethnic psychology, providing a presentation platform for domestic psychologists. The committee aims to uncover the commonality and individuality of psychological development among different ethnic and cultural groups, understand the cultural influences on psychological development, promote indigenous psychology research in China, and contribute to enhancing overall ethnic psychological research and fostering stability and unity in ethnic regions.

Main responsibilities of the Professional Committee of Ethnic Psychology includes:
Convene ethnic psychologists to carry out academic cooperation and research, exchange latest theoretical and empirical research in a timely manner, and provide theoretical and empirical support for the development of the discipline of psychology and the formulation of ethnic policies.
Organize committee meetings and academic conferences on ethnic psychology to promote the development of the discipline; regularly hold national academic forums within discipline, such as "High-end Forum on Ethnic Psychology and Social Harmonious Development of Ethnic Areas", to enhance the service function of the Specialized Committee.
To set up columns of ethnic psychology in relevant journals and magazines to popularize the knowledge and research results of ethnic psychology.
