Social Psychology of the Chinese Psychological Society

The Specialist Committee on Social Psychology of the Chinese Psychological Society was established in 1999 and initially directed by renowned social psychologist Shen Decan, followed by Professors Le Guoan, Jin Shenghua, Zuo Bin, Zheng Quanquan, Wang Xinjian, and Yu Guoliang.

Comprising professionals engaged in both basic and applied research in social psychology, the committee currently involves 50 members from 31 universities and scientific research institutes across China, from influential senior experts to young-to-middle-aged academic researchers in social psychology.

The primary goals of the committee include gathering, uniting, and organizing professionals in social psychology. It actively participate in domestic and international academic exchanges and contribute to the theoretical construction and innovation of social psychology. Through exploring research methods, understanding social mentality, and revealing social psychological mechanisms and behavioral laws, it aims to provide a scientific foundation for social governance and construct a harmonious social psychology environment.

Key activities and responsibilities of the committee include:
1. Organizing social psychology research, evaluating and exchanging theoretical and empirical research results, providing support for social management decision-making and psychological services.
2. Conducting outreach lectures and professional training activities, promoting the application of social psychology in social practice.
3. Organizing working meetings and national conferences on social psychology.
4. Publishing relevant scientific research results, and facilitating academic exchanges and cooperation with Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and international social psychology.
