Physiological Psychology of the Chinese Psychological Society

Established in 1979, the Specialist Committee on Physiological Psychology has played a pivotal role in advancing the field under the guidance of esteemed leaders such as Professors Pan Shu, Shao Jiao, Kuang Pei Zi, Guan Linchu, Lin Wenjuan, and Sui Nan.

At present, the committee boasts a robust membership of 50 individuals, representing 38 governing units spanning 15 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities. Comprising scholars and specialists from diverse backgrounds—including research institutes, comprehensive universities, medical school physiology or biology departments, neurology and psychology departments in secondary and tertiary general hospitals, disease prevention and control centers, as well as psychology departments/institutes of universities and teacher training colleges—the committee stands as a collaborative force of expertise in physiological psychology and related interdisciplinary research fields.

With a commitment to advancing academic pursuits in physiological psychology, the committee focuses on organizing and participating in various academic activities. These activities are designed to foster research, promote teaching initiatives, facilitate personnel training, drive knowledge translation, and ultimately contribute to the continued development of physiological psychology within China. The committee's endeavors extend beyond national borders, actively engaging in international communications to foster collaborations and enrich the global discourse on physiological psychology.

The Specialist Committee on Physiological Psychology of the Chinese Psychological Society stands as a dynamic and influential body, dedicated to the advancement of physiological psychology through academic endeavors, educational initiatives, and international cooperation.

The Biennial Conference of Chinese Physiological Psychology, held since 2004, has evolved into a pivotal academic activity for the committee. Moreover, "Advances in Psychology - Advances in Physiological Psychology" is published every four years to showcase the latest research results in physiological psychology, with three issues published to date. The committee is dedicated to shaping the discipline, promoting academic exchanges and collaboration, and cultivating talent, thereby steering the development of physiological psychology in China.
