Nursing Psychology of Chinese Psychological Society

The Nursing Psychology Professional Committee of the Chinese Psychological Society commenced its establishment preparations in December 2013 and was formally established in January 2015. Presently, it comprises 44 members covering 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China. All members are esteemed professionals who have long been engaged in the teaching, research and practice of nursing psychology in universities and large hospitals. The committee's secretariat is affiliated to the Faculty of Nursing at the Naval Medical University.

The mission of the Nursing Psychology Professional Committee is to explore the theoretical and practical models of nursing psychology in China based on the deep integration of two first-level disciplines, psychology and nursing, to enhance the occupational mental health level and psychological nursing service capacity of nearly 6 million nurses in China, to lead nursing psychology professionals across the nation and in various regions to fully utilize the crucial role of nurses in promoting the physical and mental well-being of the entire population.

The Nursing Psychology Professional Committee focuses on the following areas of work:

1. Organize and conduct research on nursing psychology to enrich the theoretical system of the discipline. The committee is dedicated to carrying out research on the theoretical construction of psychological care, the psychological reaction of nursing clients, clinical psychological care models and methods, nurses' occupational mental health, intelligent nursing and the psychological impact of nursing professional environment, so as to provide professional norms and technical support for the physical and mental health of the entire population.

2. Carry out professional education, training programs, special seminars and other activities in the field of nursing psychology. The committee aims to promote the training of nursing psychology professionals and the construction of nurses' psychological nursing capacity in a systematic and standardized manner, to accelerate the popularization of new academic achievements in nursing psychology theories and techniques in practical settings, and to facilitate the application of nursing psychology achievements in mental health services for all individuals.

3. Hold national academic conferences and working meetings on nursing psychology on a regular basis, organizing discussions around important scientific issues and disciplinary development directions in the field of nursing psychology. These gatherings provide an academic platform for extensive members to exchange academic achievements, fostering collaboration and steering the advancement of the discipline.

4. Strengthen domestic and international academic exchanges and cooperation. The committee endeavors to compile and publish textbooks and monographs on nursing psychology, thereby augmenting the academic influence of the discipline at home and abroad.

5. Organize and carry out relevant social services, mental health education and popular science, professional psychological support and emergency psychological assistance, so as to reflect the professional responsibility and disciplinary value of nursing psychology in the national mental health service.
